1/3 of Those Surveyed Don’t Know We Have a Nuclear Reactor
Tuesday we shared how many times we'd heard from Tri-Cities people there was no working nuclear reactor here. We decided to do a survey and almost 50 responded and one third were not aware there is a working nuclear reactor north of Richland. It's called the Columbia Generating Station. The Tri-City Herald is reporting that Hanford may soon to be home to NEW reactors. TRIDEC will spend a state grant to research the idea. New, small reactors, called modular reactors, can generate a ton of power in a small space. Local boosters say those could be great for Tri-Cities' economy.
Is that a good idea? What are your thoughts?
