High schoolers, this world was not created for you. You need to work your ass off to get somewhere in life. DOn't expect the silver platter to be handed to you, especially in today's world. You need to work longer, harder and faster than anyone else to get ahead in today's world. The biggest problem I find with kids today is they expect everything handed to them. They want to show up and make $40,000 a year with 3 weeks paid vacation. What you have to understand is this world is controlled by people outside of your generation and we're not going anywhere. So to get what we have you have to take it from us. You have to outwork us. You have to out think us. You have to have more drive than us. Quit asking for raises -- as a matter of fact quit asking for anything. Learn to give. Learn to work. Learn to buckle down and REALLY WORK! Do these things in either college or in the private sector and you will find yourself succeeding. Really go for it. Live for today. Leave it all out there. And take no prisoners.

  • Protect your hearing. Hearing loss isn't just that things become quieter. It's a lifetime of "EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE" ringing in your ears that never, ever, stops. And that's not all, you'll never have silence inside your head ever again. When your surroundings get quieter, the ringing just gets louder.
  • Just because you can doesn't mean you should.
  • Dwelling on the past gets you nowhere.
  • Never do more than one illegal thing at the same time.
  • Be nice always, but don't let others take advantage of you.
  • If it only takes a minute to do it, just do it.
  • Always just be yourself, unless you're an ass.
  • Live within your means.
  • Try every type of cheese.
  • When in doubt, just shut up.
  • Quit drinking soda. Drink more water.
  • Feel guilty for mistakes you've made, but never for who you are.
  • Be grateful to just exist.
  • Wear sunscreen.
  • Don't start smoking. Don't start meth.
  • Never be afraid to ask for help. Everyone, and I mean EVERYONE has insecurities.
  • Your happiness is your responsibility
  • Don't sweat the petty things.
  • Life sucks, bu the parts that make it better make it worth it.
  • Staying fit is a lot easier than getting fit.
  • Love is not about possession, but appreciation.
  • Be trustworthy.
  • Don't focus on grades, focus on skills.
  • Don't try to live up to your parents' standard of living. It took them decades to get where they are now.
  • Grow a thick skin. You'll need it at some point.
  • If you're not serving at least one person unselfishly, you're likely in a state of deterioration.
  • Just do it. Stop worrying about hitting the ground running, just make a start.
  • Potential and intelligence will always be defeated by hard work and accomplishments.
  • Home is where you make it.
  • Learn to manager your expectations.
  • Your parents won't be around forever. What can YOU do for THEM?
  • Lastly, be positive for what the future holds.
