On a scale of 1 to 10, there is a 7 chance tonight of seeing the Aurora Borealis!

The natural phenomenon is notoriously finicky, so don't get your hopes up, but there's a chance the atmospheric fireworks show can be seen as far south as Portland!

To have any hopes of seeing it, you need a sky with minimum light pollution.

For those who don't know, aurorae are created by cosmic rays, solar wind and plasma entering the atmosphere from above and causing an exchange of electrons and protons, releasing light.
