In case you haven't heard, actor, producer, and all around talented and beloved guy, Alan Rickman died due to cancer. He's probably best known for his role as Severus Snape from the Harry Potter franchise. However, his career spanned over 30 years, and he's played roles from a gentleman in a period piece, to an action film villain. Here's a list of the top Alan Rickman films to catch. Some you've heard of and some not, but the world will be a bit darker without his star shining bright in it. RIP Alan Rickman

    The Harry Potter Films

    Severus Snape. Always.

Not on Netflix, but if you're a super-fan, you already own at least one Harry Potter film. If not, ask someone you know, odds are they have one for you.

    Galaxy Quest

A great comedic role, and action film all in one. His character in this perfectly displays his sense of humor along with hit ability to transform in to what ever role he's given. Plus, it's just a super-fun movie. You can watch this one on Netflx

    Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves

Say what you will about Kevin Costner (and his lack or British accent in this movie) this is one of the best Robin Hood films. Alan Rickman absolutely stole the show as the Sheriff of Nottingham. Watch it for the first time or watch it again, you will love every second of Alan on screen.

    Bottle Shock

If you love wine, you'll enjoy this film. It's a sweet little indie movie in the vain of Sideways. Take a chance on this one, it will make you smile. Available on Netflix.

    Sense and Sensibility (1995)

There are many versions of all of Jane Austen's works, but in my opinion, this is the best version of Sense and Sensibility. Rickman has grace, wisdom, pride, and warmth that shine through making him the perfect Austen gentleman. This was on Netflix for the longest time, but they don't have it currently. Hopefully they bring it back soon.

    Dogma

Alan's humor, wit, sarcasm, shines in this movie as Metatron, a disgruntled angel who is reluctantly leading an unwitting vessel on a journey of discovery to save the world. If you haven't seen this, please get on it! He's fantastic, as is Chris Rock playing an apostle, and seeing Matt Damon and Ben Affleck as rogue angels is pretty amazing!

    Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy

He's the sad robot!! The movie itself wasn't that great, but he was awesome. Best part of the film for sure, and he makes it worth the watch.

    Die Hard

The one that launched him in to the main stream. A Chrismas staple, and action movie classic. Hans Gruber is one of our favorite villains ever.
