If you love fishing the Tucannon Lakes located just outside of Dayton...heads up there are going to be some major changes starting next year including the draining of Rainbow lake!

The 8 man made lakes will be undergoing maintenance related changes to better improve the impact of the lakes on the environment. The names of the lakes are:Rainbow,Big 4,Deer,Beaver,Watson,Blue,Curl and Spring lakes! The lakes are stocked annually with approximately 88,000 catch-able sized  Rainbow Trout.

The reason for the project? All 8 of the lakes drain back into the snake river and the warm temperatures affect the temperature of the river and the fish species who call it home.

Rainbow lake will be completely drained and dredged next summer (2017)
