A black bear has been spotted just outside of Prosser all week. Washington State Fish and Wildlife say the bear was first spotted a week ago and has been seen wandering in the orchards around Prosser according to news reports. They say the bear is small and not a danger to anyone. They have also set a trap to catch the bear so they can relocate it to a better home safely.

So far the bear has only knocked over a few trash cans and authorities are telling people to put trash inside their garage or in a secure location. Officials are not sure where the bear came from but think it is likely from the mountains west of Yakima.
