We broke all kinds of records for heat and air quality this summer, and it was NOT a fun time. But finally the weather is chilling out and getting in to more comfortable temperatures. Autumn is usually a a perfect time to live in the Tri-Cities, but winters can be brutal...

We had one good day. Saturday it seemed like maybe the days of horrible air quality were finally breaking up. Well, unfortunately that one day was the only break we get and it's the think smokey haze is back with a vengeance. The National Weather Service issued another alert for really MOST of the Northwest, including Benton and Franklin counties (among other local counties)...

We were told that we would have relief today (Wednesday) from the horrible smokey air in Tri-Cities, but now they are saying not only is it not over but it will get worse.

It has been hard to escape the tan and smokey air that has covered most of the Northwest since last weekend. Monday was the worst day and today doesn't look any better.

The heat is here Tri-Cities! Today we are expecting a high near 105 with temps staying around 100 for at least the next week!

Blue moon, New moon, Blood moon, Harvest moon... We have give names to all kinds of lunar phenomenon and here's another to add to the list: the Strawberry Moon. I had never heard of a Strawberry Moon, though the term has been around for a LONG time...

Hey, remember that spring that was totally sunny and warm the whole season!? Yeah, neither do I. Sure, things usually warm a bit and the sun peaks through most days, but the wind is usually here. Luckily we don't get as much rain as Portland or Seattle, but it's going to feel like we're one of those cities wmthis weekend, with a windy twist...

Just because the white stuff passed us by, that doesn't mean it didn't fall elsewhere. This morning, Snoqualmie Pass was closed to ice and snow. The pass is back open, but it's slow going for sure. Drivers are required to have chains and WSDOT is saying that travelers should add at least 45 minutes to their drive times if they're using the pass...

To everyone that thought spring had arrived in Tri-Cities....sike! Turns out good ol Punxsutawney Phil was right because snowy weather is on its way again!

In case you haven't stepped outside today, it's WINDY! Sure that's not news for our neck of the woods, but there is more windy and weird weather headed our way. According to the National Weather Service, the winds will pick up today and tonight up to 22 MPH, and though the wind will die down a bit, it will bring colder temps...
