Alcohol leads to bad decisions, like driving under the influence and running after you collide with a car on the highway, or maybe he was too drunk to notice what happened.

Ricardo J. Cervantes, 48, of Mabton, was arrested by police for DUI and hit-and-run on Tuesday in Pasco.

The Washington State Patrol said he was driving a blue and white 1988 Chevrolet S10 pickup east on Interstate 182 near Richland when he struck the back of a green 2014 Ford Fusion earlier in the evening. Cervantes continued driving and left the scene.

Two people were in the Ford and the passenger, Candice A. Barrios, a 32-year-old Richland woman, was taken to Kadlec hospital to be checked for injuries. Amilcar A. Hernandez Campo, a 32-year-old Las Vegas man, was driving but was not injured.
