There's a reason in driving school they teach you to headacheck and check your blindspot before making a lane change.

That kind of quick attention to detail may have prevented a 21 year-old driver from colliding with another vehicle during a lane change on the bypass highway near Richland.

Unfortunately, the other car had some precious cargo in a 3 week-old baby boy and his two teen companions. They were transported to Trios Hospital and appear to be doing okay, as they apparently did not stay the night.

The driver will likely be cited for an "unsafe lane change."
