Divers Found Explosive Device in Wallowa Lake!
A few weeks back a group of off-duty Search and Rescue members were diving near near the north end of Wallowa Lake when they found a small suspicious-looking device. They reported the device to local authorities who contacted the FBI. The FBI recovered the device and it was described as a long pipe wrapped in black tape. It was taken to a safe location and detonated. The device had about the same kick as a stick of dynamite.
Sheriff Roberts reasoned that it was probably some teenagers who created the device and and just left it there. The main concern was that it could reach public areas and be dangerous to people enjoying the beaches. It was so lucky the off-duty Search and Rescue divers found it before it could cause any damage or injury!
