Most popular vegetables need to be seeded indoors now to be ready for planting in May!

Broccoli, tomatoes, brussel sprouts, cabbage, cauliflower, eggplant, peas, peppers all need to be seeded indoors now.

Celery and lettuce need to be seeded in another month. The last frost of the winter could be as late as May in our area, so keep your plants indoors until then.

Remember, if you wait until April or May to plant, then as soon as the weather heats up the plant will transition and go to seed and will no longer be edible.

The WSU extension website has REALLY in-depth instructions for each type of vegetable.

Or, just ask someone at your favorite hardware store. And even though it's like asking the chef for his recipes, I've found most vendors at local farmers markets to be really, really helpful.

It's much easier to get kids to eat vegetables they grew themselves and if you're a fan of "The Walking Dead" you know it's always a good idea to learn how to grow your own food.
