Numerous families are accusing Franklin County of mistreating inmates. One of them is the family of a man who died in his cell last year. According to the reports, the hospital and jail were exasperated by the man and left him in a cell to detox. He was dead by 1 a.m.

The 26-year-old man was having seizures, screaming for medical attention and begging for medication. The family's attorneys have witnesses saying he was hitting his head against the wall and crying.
I definitely feel bad for the family. They want $10 million from Lourdes Medical Center for releasing him and double that from the County.

But witnesses also describe the man's behavior as untreatable. Suffering from schizophrenia, he was also high on meth and alcohol. At the hospital he was screaming, delusional, uncooperative and abusive so they called the police and released him. The police took him to a park where he proceeded to strip naked and act disruptive. Frustrated and out of options, they put him in a cell to detox and ignored him.

What would you do? If you agree the jail should have done more, do they and Lourdes deserve to pay $30 million?
