Klickitat County is dumbfounded after federal authorities denied their application to create more green, renewable energy for the region.

The plan was to create a facility near John Day Dam that would pump water uphill into reservoirs that could then be used to generate more or less electricity depending on demand.

When the dam was maxed out, water would flow from the top reservoir to a lower reservoir flowing through turbines to generate electricity.

At a time when the nation is scrambling to generate more clean electricity, saying no to this project is confusing in the least.
