You can now eat fish grown in your own waste! Kind of. Well, not really. They're actually grown in recycled sewage water.

The Ephrata water treatment plant doesn't release re-claimed water back into rivers or lakes. It pumps it into ponds where it sinks into the earth and replenishes aquifers.

The water is clean, however, so officials started wondering if it could be put to work while it seeps in.

They came up with the idea of raising black crappie. They don’t need a lot of management, they don’t need to be fed, and they keep fairly close to the bottom so birds can’t get to them.
