Hermiston police had some adventure Halloween night when a 28-year-old man from Umatilla held a Home Depot store hostage.

Police began following the suspect when callers reported him driving in excess of 90 miles an hour on Highway 395.

He later told police he thought some "big players" in the local crime scene were after him. He also told them a camera had been inserted into his eye and that voices in his head allowed him to listen in on his family at home. Generally police said the words coming out of his mouth were scattered and "not in a logical order."

But THAT was after he barricaded the front doors of Home Depot and demanded the employees in the paint department take him to a parole officer.

But THAT was after he tried to jump a curb while driving so fast the force blew out his front two tires!
