A Hanford employee has tested positive for internal radioactive contamination at a Hanford Fire Station. More employees are awaiting tests but the health risk for all employees is reportedly low. The Deportment of Energy says it was caused by breathing equipment used at the nuclear reservation's Plutonium Finishing Plant being sent to the station for storage. That is where the employee had contact. Out of 150 employees, 104 have requested testing and are waiting for their results.

Reports also say that "CH2M Hill also is sending a team of corporate safety and radiological control experts to do an on site assessment and review of practices. An in depth investigation into the cause of the incident is continuing".
