Hermiston Wants a New Slogan After Marijuana Legalized in Oregon

I can't help but giggle at this story! The beautiful city of Hermiston adopted the slogan, "You can grow here" not long ago. It tips a hat to the agricultural industry while also promoting its family-friendly image. But now it's planning to paint over the water tower and spend money to come up with something new!

It allocated money to communicate the message that Hermiston is a great place to raise a family, but that word "GROW" is no longer OK. Why not?

Oregon legalized marijuana.

Get it? "You can GROW here"? That wasn't the message the conservative community had wanted to convey!

If it was me I'd relax and have a sense of humor, but I do respect that they're trying hard to market themselves and want to send the right message.
