Hero Dog Guards a Trapped Friend for One Week

A hero dog's story leaked over the weekend because he waited for almost a week at the top of a chasm because a friend was trapped. A Washington animal shelter says that the two Basset hounds were lost the week before and found last Tuesday. Someone had spotted a reddish dog and when they went to investigate they found one basset laying next to the hole the other was stuck in.

The trapped dog was cold and wet but otherwise ok.
