A woman at the Oregon State Police crime lab in Bend has been stealing drugs out of the evidence lockers. It could jeopardize hundreds of criminal prosecutions in northeast Oregon and about a 1,000 cases throughout the state.

She is believed to have stolen evidence since 2012. Prior to working in Bend, she was in crime labs in Pendleton and Ontario, Oregon.

So far, no defense attorneys have come forward asking for retrials or other exceptions. There is no evidence she did a bad job on her reports, simply that she stole drugs from the safes.
