I have been following along with the stories about "Mars One". The TV show contest where they were going to pick 100 people to compete for a chance to be the first to colonize mars. It is a one way trip so there were restrictions to enter. If I didn't have a family I might have entered but it turns out now it was allegedly a scam.

Just the other day an article published on Medium's Matter, interviews Dr. Joseph Roche who was one of the final 100 selected. The kinds of things that Dr. Roche describes make me sick to my stomach. Including:

"Mars One has almost no money. Mars One has no contracts with private aerospace suppliers who are building technology for future deep-space missions. Mars One has no TV production partner. Mars One has no publicly known investment partnerships with major brands. Mars One has no plans for a training facility where its candidates would prepare themselves. Mars One’s candidates have been vetted by a single person, in a 10-minute Skype interview."

Looks like the world got punk'd on that one!
