This week, the Mormon Church also known as The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has changed their rules to kick out same-sex couples and their kids. Reports say many members are angered and confused about the change. Wendy Montgomery is a Mormon member with an openly gay son said "It feels like they are extending an olive branch and hitting you with it", and "It's like this emotional whiplash." they are now facing leaving the church they have belonged to for generations because of this.

She went on the say ""We just put a scarlet letter on these kids.""This isn't my church. I don't see God in it. I don't see divinity it. It just feels evil." Some of the new rules that came down this week are:

—children of parents in gay or lesbian relationships, be it marriage or just living together ,can no longer receive blessings as infants, be baptized when they are about 8 years old, or serve mission as young adults unless they:

— Disavow the practice of same-sex relationships.

— Turn 18 and no longer live with gay parents.

— Get approval from their local leader and the highest leaders at church headquarters in Salt Lake City.
