Due to its prominent location, hospital staff were needed for crowd control to keep people away from the red truck where a man took his life.

Staff noticed the Dodge truck around 10:30 a.m. Monday. The driver pulled into the hospital parking lot near the sign, drove up over the curb landing the front tires on the grass.

He then pulled out a firearm and lethally shot himself.

Police were slow to release more information until family were notified.

First responders were on the scene in minutes and the hospital remained open during the investigation.
