Atomic Bowl, located at 624 Wellsian Way in Richland, Washington, has recently announced an upcoming upgrade to the bowling alley, followed by a celebrity event featuring local media and professional bowler Jason Belmonte.

New pinspotters coming to Atomic Bowl

Atomic Bowl will be replacing its 68-year-old Brunswick A2 pinspotters with new Quibica/AMF Edge pinspotters. The upgrade will cost $560,000, but offer the bowling alley and its bowlers significant benefits. The new pinspotters are safer, more efficient, and easier to maintain. Bowlers can expect faster games and less breakdowns on the alley. Details on these machines can be seen in this video.

The upgrade will begin on Monday, May 13, 2024. Atomic Bowl's lanes will be closed for at least a week during this upgrade; however, the Arcade, Card Room, and Comedy/Nightclub will remain open.

Jason Belmonte to offer exhibition on June 1

Professional Australian bowler Jason Belmonte will visit Atomic Bowl on June 1, 2024 starting around 1 pm. Also known by the nickname "Belmo," Belmonte is known for a two-handed approach and has won 31 Professional Bowling Association (PBA) titles.

Jason Belmonte will begin the event with a Q&A, followed by a one-game celebrity match with local media personalities. Jason will then bowl a small pro-AM 3-game tournament with local leagues, bowling half a game each on six pairs of lanes.

No admission will be charged, but space will be limited.

Tri-Cities to get more than one bowling upgrade before summer

Spare Time Lanes in Kennewick will also be upgrading its pinsetters, beginning in late April, with a grand re-opening party planned afterward. This means both local bowling alleys will have significant upgrades in place in time for summer break, making them great, safer destinations for kids, teens, and families to play.
