Heads up, Richland peeps!

Starting in 2018, you could be slapping down an additional $20 on your vehicle registration.

Here's why: There's 40,000 vehicles registered in Richland. That would generate $850,000 each year. That money would help fund the proposed Duportail Bridge connecting Queensgate area Richland to the bypass highway. Washington State has already set aside $20 million for the project, but still needs some additional funding.

The bridge is projected to be operational by 2020.

The City of Richland has been going back and forth, and they're finally going to vote on the $20 fee.

Would you be okay paying $20 extra for vehicle registration?
