Saturday's blizzard was unprecedented and something I've never seen in the 26 years I have lived here. It caused the death of some 1,600 dairy cows in the lower valley.

According to an article published by KIMA news the cows died because of the prolonged blizzard which produced 80 mph winds in the valley on Saturday. Ranchers say they did everything they could to save their animals, working around the clock, but the weather was unprecedented.

I came across this video which is quite disturbing on Facebook showing a farm in Grandview with many dead cows in a pasture...
