See How Washington Is Making Your Weed Safer

Washington State just announced some new rules that will make both medical and recreational marijuana safer. Currently they must test for things like mold and microbs but not for pesticides. Under the new rules growers can earn an "enhanced seal of approval" for the correct labeling, employee training, safe handling, and testing for pesticides. Reports say the testing will be done by the DOH but no facility in Washington has the ability yet to test pesticides.

All this stems from 2 cases in Colorado where people claim to be sickened by pesticides from marijuana they bought. They are suing the largest producer in Colorado and it is still being decided in courts. King County released a guide to answer questions people might have about pesticides and marijuana and the reports says "There have been no cases of human illness identified due to pesticides in marijuana".
