See What MLB Teams Charge for a Public Proposal
Ahh, yes. Opening day. It's finally here! One of the most popular ways to get married is to propose at a sporting event, namely baseball. With 91 home games to choose from, there's even less pressure than with an NFL game. Thanks to the folks at Deadspin, we know what each team charges for a public proposal. We also have one more reason to hate the Dodgers. (I'd say Yankees, but the Yankees are so damn cheap, actually.)
Arizona Diamondbacks - Chase Field - $250
Atlanta Braves - Turner Field - $50
Baltimore Orioles - Oriole Park at Camden Yards - Not Allowed
Boston Red Sox - Fenway Park - $350
Chicago Cubs - Wrigley Field - $175
Chicago White Sox - US Cellular Field - $55
Cincinnati Reds - Great American Ballpark - $50
Cleveland Indians - Progressive Field - $400
Colorado Rockies - Coors Field - $50
Detroit Tigers - Comerica Park - $75
Houston Astros - Minute Maid Park - $500
Kansas City Royals - Kauffman Starium - Not Allowed
Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim - Angel Stadium of Anaheim - Not Allowed
Los Angeles Dodgers - Dodger Stadium - $2,500
Miami Marlins - Marlins Park - $500
Milwaukee Brewers - Miller Park - $250
Minnesota Twins - Target Field - $209
New York Mets - Citi Field - Not Allowed
New York Yankees - Yankee Stadium - $100
Oakland Athletics - O.co Coliseum - $85
Philadelphia Phillies - Citizens Bank Park - $450
Pittsburgh Pirates - Petco Park - $39
San Francisco Giants - AT&T Stadium - $175
Seattle Mariners - SafeCo Field - $115
St. Louis Cardinals - Busch Stadium - $500
Tampa Bay Rays - Tropicana Field - $500
Texas Rangers - Globe Life Park in Arlington - $200
Toronto Blue Jays - Rogers Centre - Not Allowed
Washington Nationals - National Park - $1,500
Who knew Safeco would charge more than Yankee Stadium? How do the Astros live with themselves charging what they charge? Also, got to hand it to the Nationals and Dodgers, giving you the chance to re-think your proposal strategy.
Unless your significant other is just about as crazy about baseball as you. Just don't be this guy.
Also, each team that participates only allow one proposal per month, just a heads up.
