"Forbes" has come out with a list of the 25 most profitable college football programs in America over the past three years and football crazy Texas easily lands the top two spots.

For years, the University of Texas, located in Austin, was the ultimate cash cow. In 2011 they made over a hundred million dollars for the first time.They have their own TV network. In 2014 the Longhorns generated more in profit, $92 million, than all but two teams made that year in revenue.

But in the past three years, powered by $260 million in athletic department contributions, nearly double what any other school made in that 3-year time frame, the Texas A&M Aggies have rocketed past Texas for the top spot, and it's not really even close. The Top 10:

  2. Texas Longhorns . . . Revenue: $133 million, Profit: $87 million
  3. Michigan Wolverines . . . Revenue: $127 million, Profit: $75 million
  4. Alabama Crimson Tide . . . Revenue: $127 million, Profit: $59 million
  5. Ohio State Buckeyes . . . Revenue: $120 million, Profit: $69 million
  6. Oklahoma Sooners . . . Revenue: $118 million, Profit: $72 million
  7. Notre Dame Fighting Irish . . . Revenue: $112 million, Profit: $72 million
  8. Auburn Tigers . . . Revenue: $112 million, Profit: $61 million
  9. LSU Tigers . . . Revenue: $112 million, Profit: $56 million
  10. Florida Gators . . . Revenue: $111 million, Profit: $67 million

19. Washington Huskies ... Revenue: $84 million, Profit: $36 million
