Who remembers when there was a giant waste treatment facility on George Washington Way at the entrance to Richland? I don't know when it disappeared, but I think it was sometime between 1990 and 2000. Anyone know?

It was really gross because it was the first thing you saw (and smelled) driving into town. Then once it closed it was an eyesore.

Eventually they built the beautiful golf course, and then the attractive and useful shopping center including Winco, Starbucks and more!

It's weird to think anyone ever thought it was a good idea to have visitors to your town be greated by a sewage plant!
