Weed Activist Sued $1 Million for Not Growing Weed
A well known marijuana activist in Oregon is being sued for allegedly not growing weed. Travis Maurer and his wife being sued for one million dollars by a trucking tycoon that says Maurer took money from him to start a grow operation and pay for legalization campaign. Reports say that Maurer took "$155,570 to pay off Travis' debts from the legalization campaign, and another $696,760 to start an indoor growing operation and dispensary." Randy Quast, the trucking tycoon and ex partner says in the lawsuit that Maurer "never rented the warehouse…and no marijuana plants had ever been planted or were growing anywhere."
The Maurers responded to the suit with a statement "We certainly don't agree with the claims...and we will respond in due course."
