It has been hard to escape the tan and smokey air that has covered most of the Northwest since last weekend. Monday was the worst day and today doesn't look any better.

Weather experts say that we will not get any relief soon with an air quality alert that lasts until at least 12 noon on Wednesday. Then then will re-evaluate and decide if the alert needs to be extended.

Smoke is not the only problem, but high ozone levels are being reported in the area also making it even worse. The wind shifted and blew smokey air from Canada fires according to reports.

People like children, pregnant women, older adults and people with chronic health conditions need to be aware and take precautions to keep safe.
