Sure the Golden Globes, and the Oscars have prestige (and arguably the best goodie bags for the winners), but there are so many things they lack: number one being fun! The MTV Movie award nominations are out, and they are anything but stuffy. While some categories are similar to the Globes and Oscars, they have strange and fun categories like Best Kiss, and Best Shirtless Performance.

Also bringing in the fun is the fact that the stars can wear and say whatever they want! No thanking the Academy blah blah blah... the stars can really let loose and actually have a good time! Another bonus (maybe the biggest of them all) is that WE vote for them! There's no school, secret committee, or trained monkeys who pick the winners. They are decided by the people!

So while winning an MTV Movie Awards may never carry the status of winning on Oscar, it will carry the status of being the best time you will have at an awards show. And the winners will know that the people they made the movies for (US) like them, really really like them!

Here are the nominees for some of the main categories. To see the rest click here!
