You Could Name the New Kennewick Schools

Homer Simpson Elementary? Mickey Mouse Academy? If you could name an elementary school, what would you call it? Well, you can nominate your choice and help name two new Kennewick Elementary schools! The Kennewick School Disctrict has sent word that they are looking to the community to help name two new schools!

Elementary #16 and Dual Language Elementary #17 need new mascots and maybe your idea will be the one they pick. Click this right here to enter your suggestion!

However, Homer Simpson and Mickey Mouse are not the kinds of suggestions they're going for:

School Board policy states that new district buildings shall be named after:

• Persons who have attained national or local prominence in the fields of education, arts and sciences, politics, military achievements and statesmanship, or other notable accomplishments;

• A past U.S. Presidents or Washington national senators or representatives.

• The geographical characteristics of the area in which the facility is located

• Other important events or achievements.

Ideas must be entered by Nov. 17, so think hard and nominate your idea. Good luck!
