Trouble seems to follow Chris Brown wherever he goes. However, this time he actually had no part in a club brawl during New York Fashion Week.

According to TMZ, a brawl went down at the VIP Room in New York City's Meatpacking District early Thursday morning (Sept. 11). Brown was hosting a New York Fashion Week after party for OK! Magazine at the venue. The gossip site reports that bottles were thrown, which prompted police to be called soon after.

While the authorities as well as fans and critics wondered if the 'X' singer had any involvement in the scuffle, Brown, who recently pleaded guilty to assault in an incident that occurred in Washington, D.C., in 2013, explained his version of the incident on his Twitter account.

A source who witnessed the fight supported Brown's claims. “Chris Brown is innocent for once,” the bystander told the NY Daily News.

“The fight happened directly across the room from Chris and his crew,” a second source told The News. “It had absolutely nothing to do with him nor was he involved.”

No arrests were made, but one person suffered an eye injury as a result of the bottle-throwing. A rep for the VIP Room confirmed that Brown was not involved in the brawl and was "completely oblivious" to the incident.

In 2012, Brown was caught up in another club brawl that involved Drake and San Antonio Spurs player Tony Parker at the W.i.P. nightclub.
