Incredible Science Center and Museum Could be Coming to the TriCities

If you love OMSI in Portland or the Pacific Science Center in Seattle you're going to LOVE this! Lara Hastings, daughter of retired U.S. Rep. Doc Hastings, R-Pasco, is heading an effort to build a world class children's science museum here! Though the museum is still in its early stages, Hastings has already gathered board members and is gaining financial support.

No word on the location of the museum, but this summer Columbia Basin College will host an exhibit from OMSI called A View From Space. The exhibit will cost $17,000, but there are sponsors involved and hopefully this will gage the level of interest in the community for a permanent museum. If all goes well, and interest (and money) are high, the project will go forward. So, hopefully soon we won't have to drive to Seattle or Portland for science fun for kids (and adults).
